JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Radiologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures including routine and portable exams in patient rooms, surgery, emergency room.  Performs clerical duties to support imaging procedures.  Adheres to the Code of Ethics of the ARRT and ARDMS.  Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and tasks appropriate to each age group as applicable.  Performs other related activities to ensure the successful and smooth operation of the Radiology Department.  Performs within the prescribed limits of the District and departmental legal compliance program.  Responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the Compliance Officer or District hotline.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Current Certification through American Registry of Radiologic Technology(ARRT/Sonography), or Demonstrate proficiency in the following types of Ultrasound Exams.

General

• abdomen
• obstetrical
• gynecological – including endovaginal
• small parts
• breast

Vascular

• lower/upper arterial and venous exam
• carotid arterial exams
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
