×COVID-19 TESTING & EMERGENCY SITUATIONS: If you believe you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 but are not experiencing a medical emergency, call your primary care provider (personal or family doctor) for a phone or in-person screening. Starting with your primary care provider for screening and COVID-19 test orders is the fastest, safest, and most affordable way to seek testing or care for COVID-19. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms who is also experiencing a medical emergency, which may include trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, or bluish lips or face, should call 911 immediately and alert the operator about their symptoms.

WELCOME FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Welcome to the Matagorda Regional Medical Center Foundation. As a native Matagorda County resident who has served as Executive Director of the MRMC Foundation for nearly a decade, I continue to be humbled by the giving spirit of this city, county and region.
The MRMC Foundation is a philanthropic organization founded in 2004. The Foundation builds community relationships and obtains funding in support of MRMC and its mission of delivering quality and compassionate healthcare. From nursing scholarships and other educational programs to events and fundraisers that have generated over $2 million to improve the health of our community, we’re proud to partner with individuals, families, and organizations who want to make a difference through giving.
Our Foundation Board invites you to join us in improving the health status of our region through volunteering and financial support. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or to learn more about how you can make a difference.
The Matagorda Regional Medical Center Foundation was established in 2004 to support the hospital as a stand-alone, not-for-profit organization. The Foundation is a 501c3 organization, and contributions are tax-deductible. The foundation is the fundraising arm for the Matagorda Regional Medical Center. Our mission is to build community relationships and obtain funding to support MRMC in delivering quality and compassionate healthcare. Tax ID: 20-1101495.

The MRMC Foundation has a long and impressive history directly supporting the health and well-being of our community through fundraising. From educational programs to much-needed medical equipment, the Foundation is a powerful partner in community health. Some of our more recent accomplishments made possible by your generous giving include:
$1 million contribution to the MRMC Wellness & Rehabilitation Center
The Jan Johnson and Carolyn Salazar Nursing Scholarship awards two $2,500 scholarships each year to individuals who are pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
Jan and Carolyn have a combined 70+ years of nursing experience. Jan retired as the Chief Nursing Officer of Matagorda General Hospital in 2002, and Carolyn retired as a Nurse Manager at Matagorda Regional Medical Center in 2014. Both ladies were key Board Members of the MRMC Foundation in the formative years, and the Foundation is grateful for their dedication and continued leadership.
As the cost of providing basic health care services continues to rise, it becomes increasingly important to support the fundraising efforts of the Matagorda Regional Medical Center Foundation. Each year, we need help to sustain our organization and continue to fulfill our mission of supporting the Matagorda Regional Medical Center. Your contribution to our Annual Campaign does just that!
The MRMC Foundation hosts two flagship fundraising events each year. The Power of the Purse event is a women’s health initiative, and the Foundation Golf Tournament raises funds for health-related projects as identified by hospital need.
A new baby is a new beginning for us all. It is a time to celebrate, to cry, and to cheer. It is a time to remember and cherish for a lifetime.
If you’d like to give friends and family a unique way to celebrate this life-changing moment while directly supporting the future of maternal, pediatric, and newborn care at the MRMC Women’s Center, consider donating to the “Life Blooms Here” Newborn Wall of Fame.
To recognize your loved ones with a donation, Honorariums and Memorials are a wonderful way to demonstrate your affections. Notes of recognition are sent to the honoree or to the family of the individual being memorialized. Gifts may be made anonymously if desired.
Due to the sensitivity and special care required for these donations, please contact Tiffany Foltyn at the MRMC Foundation to make custom arrangements. Ms. Foltyn can be contacted at (979) 241-5534 or email@example.com.
