Uses the nursing process in the delivery of individualized patient care. Responsible for delivery of quality patient care, assessment, planning care, implementation of care plan, evaluation of care, education of patient and family, excellent communication skills, delegating, directing and supervision of patient care. Institutes appropriate nursing interventions, before physician examination, according to department policy and procedure. Facilitate patient flow and communicate relevant information to the appropriate health care team, the patient, and the family. Make assignments to LVN’s and delegate to unlicensed staff in compliance with BNE rules. Implement standing pathway orders based on assessment at patient arrival. Facilitate use of the appropriate resources for support. Document patient responses to treatments and medications and progress towards goals.
Current registered nurse license in the State of Texas, CPR, A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred, 2 years experience.

Acquires the following competency certification within 3 months of hire: Accu-Check Competency and CPR
Recommended the following certifications within 1 year of hire: Basic EKG
