JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of a Radiologist performs professional duties involved in a variety of procedures. In addition to sonography, will perform radiological procedures dictated by the needs of the department and the ability of the sonographer including routine and portable exams in patients rooms, surgery, emergency room and radiology rooms. Performs clerical duties to support imaging procedures. Adheres to the Code of Ethics of the ARRT. Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and tasks appropriate to each age group as applicable. Performs other related activities to ensure the successful and smooth operation of the Radiology Department.
Graduate from an approved ultrasound program with a minimum of one (1) year or have sufficient training and experience to qualify for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers as outlined in their prerequisites to be considered for Nonregistered status.
Current registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and in good standing to qualify for Registered status.
Current registration by the American Registry of Radiological Tecnologists, ARRT(R) and current Certificate of Medial Radiological Technology from the State of Texas.
Demonstrate proficiency in the following types of ultrasound exams:
- Gynecological including endovaginal
- Small parts
