 JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leadership, clinical nursing practice, monitoring, and ongoing performance improvement of designated nursing unit(s). Knowledge of finances and productivity is necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and tasks appropriate to each age group. Accountability for evaluating and managing performance, policies, programs, and services for effectiveness and consistency with the mission, goals, and objectives of the organization. Provides leadership through mentoring and career development. Performs within the prescribed limits of the District and department legal compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe and report compliance variances to immediate supervisor, or upward through the chain of command, the compliance Officer or District hotline.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current Texas License.
  2. Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  3. Minimum 5-10 years previous management required.
  4. Previous experience directing a larger nursing department (20+ FTE’s or more) required.
  5. Current BLS required. ACLS, TNCC, NRP, PALS / ENPC, CPI / Stable or other certifications based on areas of responsibility.
