Director of Marketing (FE)
Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing directs the strategic communication, planning, marketing, business development, and physician relationship efforts consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital district and affiliated organizations.
The Director is charged with delivering high performance growth solutions that align with the strategic direction set forth by the CEO in support of the mission and vision of the hospital district. These solutions include:
- Healthcare market development and brand experience strategy.
- Effective communication strategy for hospital district programs and initiatives.
- Medical practice consulting and clinical service line development.
- Clinical affiliations, joint ventures, and strategic partnership agreements.
- Physician recruitment, integration, and retention.
- Short and long-term special project leadership as directed.
Responsibilities:
Market development and brand experience strategy: Create and manage the system-wide brand marketing plan while measuring and reporting marketing return on investment (MROI) data to key stakeholders. Oversee the development of the hospital district’s visual identity, message strategy, and brand guidelines, and ensure a culture of digital innovation, data-driven customer segmentation, and effective targeted marketing strategies.
Create and manage a scalable marketing and outreach budget. Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and execute a strategic market development plan as part of the overall hospital district strategic plan. Plan, direct, and evaluate business development initiatives to establish transformational healthcare partnerships, fuel capability development, promote physician-hospital integration, and support sustainable and long-term regional growth.
Assist in development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives as part of hospital leadership.
Medical practice consulting and clinical service line development: Work directly with senior hospital department leaders, employed physicians and practice managers, and qualified independent physicians and regional partner organizations to build strong referral networks and viable service lines. Provide prescriptive marketing and growth strategy consults to a regional network of qualified FQHC, RHC, SNF, critical access, and community hospital administrators on behalf of the district.
Physician recruitment, integration, and retention: Develop pools of qualified candidates by engaging physician recruiting firms and sourcing passive candidates through networking and social media initiatives. Thoroughly vet candidates to ensure that their interests and credentials align with the hospital district’s needs. Ensure that incoming physicians and midlevel providers transition smoothly into the organization and are set up for operational and social success. Conduct monthly rounds on providers to improve communication, promote best practices, and positively impact the provider experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferable with an emphasis in business, communications, public relations, or marketing; master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of three to five years of healthcare experience.
- One or more nationally recognized marketing or industry certifications preferred but not required (FACHE, CMPE, CPXP, CCXP, AMA-PCM, DCMP, or equivalent). Project Management and/or Lean Six Sigma certification highly desirable but not required.
