Under the direction of the Admission Supervisor, the Central Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling procedure for all departments within the hospital; Obtain all pertinent information necessary for scheduling purposes; Obtain demographic, insurance information and pre-certification, is applicable from patient and/or physician’s office; must be well organized; Works closely with the hospital and physicians’ office personnel; Complete each scheduling task timely with little room for error; Accommodate patients, physicians and hospital staffing needs; Providing daily and/or week-at-a-glance schedules to departments and physician offices; excellent communication skills.
- High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred
- Minimum two years clerical experience required, preferably in a hospital business office, or physician office.
- Well-rounded knowledge of diagnostic tests, procedures, surgeries and treatments.
- Must be able to communicate with both English and Spanish customers/patients
