POWER of the Purse Auction for Women

The Matagorda Regional Medical Center Foundation presents their 1st Annual POWER of the Purse Auction for Women. This event will feature silent and live auctions of new and gently used handbags in a variety of styles and prices. Other purses will be for sale that evening in the “Tried and True” section, a must see for women of all ages. The night will feature a guest auctioneer, wine and appetizers, and of course lots of fun for the ladies in our community.

The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards the purchase of a Mammotome Breast Biopsy System, at a total cost of $27,000, for our Surgical Services Department at Matagorda Regional Medical Center. This new equipment is highly accurate in helping physicians diagnose a variety of breast abnormalities, from those you can feel to those you cannot feel. It is more comfortable and less invasive, no longer requiring our female patients to be placed under anesthesia for a biopsy. This will be a wonderful addition to our Surgical Services Department, as currently we have to place our biopsy patients under sedation.
